Ja Morant flaunted a gun on Instagram Live for the second time in a matter of two months. Following his second offense, Morant has little to no sympathy from the media and fans.

So much so that there are people who want Ja Morant to be arrested for brandishing a gun on video. Golden State Warriors star Draymond Green recently shared his views on Ja’s actions. Green called out people who want Morant to be locked up.

“I’ve had my mistakes. I’m not one to come on here and condemn, and you shouldn’t be doing this, you should be doing that,” Green said. “I don’t condone what Ja has done. But what I will say is I saw a couple of people screaming like, ‘Lock him up, lock him up.’ It’s actually not illegal to have a gun in a lot of places in America. So to just start screaming, ‘Lock him up,’ you all actually don’t know if he broke a law. Like, you actually don’t know if he had a license. You don’t know if that gun was licensed for him. Most people probably don’t know whether it’s an open-carry state or not. You don’t know where he was and if he was in Florida, and it’s an open-carry state! You don’t know none of those things!”

While Green clapped back at people who want to arrest Ja, he still didn’t justify the Grizzlies superstar’s actions.

“Was he wrong? Absolutely! Everyone saying it’s irresponsible. Of course! It’s irresponsible. Like, you have a following, and you’re trying to build a business. Kids drive sneaker sales. Kids’ parents buy shoes. And those children’s parents aren’t impressed with what they’re seeing. Stop it! Or don’t build a business.”

Popular streamer Adin Ross has been the biggest advocate of locking Ja up for his actions. But again, as Green said, there’s still a lot of uncertainty around where Morant was when he flashed the gun.

Sure, what he did was wrong, but was it illegal? It will only be unveiled when the investigation reaches its conclusion.

JJ Redick Defends Ja Morant

Most people out there have turned their backs on Ja Morant. But there are still a select few, who are trying to understand the Grizzlies superstar’s situation.

Former NBA player and current ESPN analyst JJ Redick is one of them. Redick recently went on a furious rant where he defended Morant.

During his rant, JJ questioned everyone who was putting all the blame on Ja instead of politicians who have actually made it possible for a 23-year-old to carry a gun.

Ja is currently suspended from all basketball activities by the Grizzlies until further notice. It shouldn’t be long until the league decides his punishment.
