The Miami Heat have consistently been a competitive team these last few seasons, and they have made multiple Eastern Conference Finals during Jimmy Butler’s tenure, also notably making the 2020 Finals. However, the team has fallen short of winning a championship thus far.

Despite their previous playoff shortcomings, it seems as though Jimmy Butler is still confident in the team’s ability to win a championship. In fact, it seems as though the superstar believes this is their year.

“This year is our year,” said Butler, per Barry Jackson of The Miami Herald. “We’re going to go into this Game 1 and do what we’re supposed to do and be the first one to four. We are very capable of it. We have enough. Guys are playing some incredible basketball. I like our chances, as does everyone in this organization.”

There’s no doubt that many consider the Miami Heat the weakest team left in the playoffs from a talent standpoint. However, they have a lot of chemistry together, and their defense has shown that it can trouble All-Stars like Julius Randle. They also have Jimmy Butler on the roster, and having an elite playoff performer like him can go a long way.

Thus far in the playoffs, Jimmy Butler has averaged 31.1 PPG, 6.6 RPG, and 5.4 APG for the Miami Heat. It is clear that he is on another level right now, and we’ll see if he can bring the Heat to another championship this season.

Jimmy Butler Could Be A Top-Tier Trade Target For The Knicks

There is no doubt that Jimmy Butler is an elite player that most franchises would love to have on their squad. In fact, he was recently named a top trade target for the New York Knicks.

“Even with Miami advancing to the Eastern Conference Final, consistency has been an issue in recent years, and the aging roster could use a shake-up,” said Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report. “Dealing Butler while he is still in his prime could allow the squad to build around Bam Adebayo and Tyler Herro…Swapping in Butler for Barrett (and a bunch of picks and others prospects) would net the Knicks a lockdown defender, tireless worker and high-level shot-creator for himself and his teammates.”

The New York Knicks have some other trade options as well, with them also notably being linked to Karl-Anthony Towns. It will be interesting to see what trades the Knicks make, but it is clear that Jimmy Butler would be one of the best options out there for them.
