Kevin Durant is under fire after his Phoenix Suns were eliminated from the 2023 NBA Playoffs by the Denver Nuggets. The player put up a fight, but the Nuggets were too much to bear for the Suns.
Following the 4-2 win by the Nuggets, everybody had something to say about the Suns, and especially KD. One NBA fan brought up an old picture of KD playing for the Golden State Warriors.
During one of the NBA Finals series against the Cleveland Cavaliers, Stephen Curry drew all the attention of all five defenders, leaving KD open, which prompted this fan to disrespect the 2x NBA champion.
“People saw KD winning rings like this and were calling him the best player in the league ,” @oldnbatweetz wrote on Thursday, as the Suns were getting blown out by the Nuggets.

Durant’s tenure with the Warriors has always been a controversial topic. Many think he only joined the Dubs to have the easiest path to the championship in NBA history. But he played his heart out in each one of those seasons, becoming a two-time champion and beating his demons.
It’s well known that his time at the Bay wasn’t the best at times, as many people constantly reminded him he was on Stephen Curry’s team, which seemingly caused his exit from the franchise.
Durant has spoken about this situation several times, admitting that he’s living with the backlash of that situation since he made his decision. He made it clear nothing will change the fact that he won and dominated with the Warriors.
Kevin Durant Is Under Fire After Denver Nuggets Eliminated Phoenix Suns From The Playoffs
However, he’s yet to dominate with another team in the NBA. After four years with the Brooklyn Nets, Durant only made it to the second round of the playoffs in 2021 when the eventual champions Milwaukee Bucks eliminated them in a hard-fought series.
After his trade to the Phoenix Suns, everybody was expecting to see something different from him and his new team, but once again, they fell short. The Suns already showed some flaws against the undermanned Los Angeles Clippers in the first round, and when the Nuggets showed up, they exploited every weakness they saw.
Now, the Suns will watch the rest of the playoffs at home while the front office gets ready to assemble the best team to compete next season.
