Jordan Poole isn’t running short of confidence despite missing his potential game-winning shot against the Los Angeles Lakers in Game 1 of the second round of the Western Conference playoffs.

According to The Mercury News, the young guard said he would take the opportunity to drain the shot again if there was a window of opportunity. “Good look. Catch and shoot. Open. I just missed it,” he said. “I’ll shoot it again, too, the next time we play and I get the same shot.”

It helps Golden State that Poole is confident despite the missed three and his more expensive floater that was missed when he went up against Anthony Davis. The Warriors ended up on the losing side in the first game, but Poole’s confidence has remained intact.

Poole finished with 21 points and 6 assists in 30 minutes after coming off the bench. He will pretty much play a similar role in Game 2 and hope that he can make amends for his misses from the first game.

Stephen Curry Backs Jordan Poole Despite His Expensive Miss In Game 1

Poole’s confidence stems from the fact that he has the backing of the veterans in the squad. Sharpshooter Stephen Curry, who looked dejected after the missed shot, backed his guard to come good in the second clash, while also adding that the Warriors unit had a lot of trust in him.

“It was a shot, he was open and flowing,” Curry explained. “I’m sure he felt pretty good about it. That’s why he shot it. There are no regrets about that. It’s just a make-or-miss type situation and a lot of trust in him and his ability to put the ball in the basket.”

Also backing him was Draymond Green. “I know everyone’s talking about the last three that he missed,” Green said. “Quite frankly, I liked the shot. You know, obviously, you tell him to eat up the space and take the three a little bit closer.”

“He could have eaten up the space, but Jordan can shoot the ball and he got a good look at it. Yes, you want him to take a couple of steps in and get an even closer three, but Jordan taking that three is not why we lost that game.”

Now, Jordan Poole has another shot, and this time, he will look to make it count when the two teams face off at the Chase Center on Thursday.
