Jordan Poole is the talk of the town after he missed a big shot against the Los Angeles Lakers that could have taken Game 1 of their second-round series to overtime.

Many people criticized Poole’s decision to shoot the ball from far away while there was still time on the clock. A lot of fans put him on a blast, but for Draymond Green, it was fine.

“I know everyone’s talking about the last three that he missed,” Green said. “Quite frankly, I liked the shot. You know, obviously, you tell him to eat up the space and take the three a little bit closer. He could have eaten up the space, but Jordan can shoot the ball and he got a good look at it. Yes, you want him to take a couple steps in and get an even closer three, but Jordan taking that three is not why we lost that game.

“I know everyone’s gonna point to that one play and say ‘he shoulda never shot that three.’ Prior to that three, he was 6-10 [from three]. You got a guy that’s 6-10 that you know can shoot the piss out of the ball and you get an open three, you live with it. There were some things I personally could have done to make sure we weren’t even in that situation.”

Green showed his support for Poole during a hard time, as making these decisions and missing big shots are always hard for players. Fortunately, he gets the chance to learn and do better next time.

It’s mandatory to say that Poole made six 3-pointers during the game, so it was easy to see why he felt so confident in that shot. However, sometimes you miss, sometimes you score, and this time, Poole couldn’t sink his shot. As simple as that.

Steve Kerr And Stephen Curry Reacted To Poole’s Late Miss

Steve Kerr and Stephen Curry also reflected on this play, supporting the player too, making it clear that the shot was his decision and they have to live with it. If Poole made it, everybody would be talking about it today, but he missed, and people are saying bad things despite having a very good game.
