The Sacramento Kings earned the respect of fans and experts across the globe after taking Stephen Curry and the Golden State Warriors to 7 games in the NBA playoffs.

All season long, the Kings demonstrated their talent and composure by being among the West’s top-performing teams all season long. And although they ultimately failed to squeeze past the Warriors in round one, De’Aaron Fox has gotten better from the experience after getting a taste of playoff victory.

“This is probably the first time that the season ended and I’m like, upset,” Fox said, via James Ham of The Kings Beat. “Because of the way it ended and we felt like we could have kept playing, we could have got to the second round and kept our season going, this was the first time I actually felt like the season ending was kinda hard for me. You want that sting to last a little bit, so you don’t want to feel that again.”

Winner of the NBA’s first-ever Clutch Player f the Year award, De’Aaron was the closer for the Kings, and it was his game that put the Kings in a position to make a run in the playoffs.

Initially, Fox was unstoppable in the series, and the Warriors had trouble defending him out of the gate. Sadly, Fox suffered a fractured finger about halfway through the series, and it seemingly compromised his game.

Had Fox stayed healthy, who knows how the series would have ended? Now, they have to re-group and think of ways to get better in the offseason.

Can The Kings Bring Another Star To Sacramento?

Fox and Sabonis are obviously capable of big things as a duo, but the King might have enough ambition and assets to make a big move for star talent this summer. One proposed deal would add Paul George to the mix to play alongside Fox in the backcourt.

“Paul George is clearly a player that is in the later stages of his career, and there is a lot of pressure on him to win a championship, as well as a desire from him to do so as well,” wrote Lee Tran. “He has a similar playstyle to Kawhi Leonard, and perhaps we need to see him on a team where he is a better fit and not in his teammate’s shadow.”

Whether they bring in a star like Paul George or just ruin it back with their guys, the Kings have arrived and you can expect them to be taken seriously when they return to the fold next season.
