Forward Jimmy Butler has been one of the best players in this year’s playoffs, notably leading the Miami Heat to an upset against the Milwaukee Bucks. He will face the New York Knicks in the second round, and it’ll be interesting to see how he performs against their elite defense.

Recently, analyst Stephen A. Smith sent a warning to the New York Knicks about Jimmy Butler. He pointed out that Butler is a “superstar in the playoffs,” adding that the Knicks have to “stop this man.”

“Jimmy Butler is a superstar in the playoffs,” Smith said. “He is something special, and he’s a rough rider. He’s a dog. He’s not one of those people that’s just trying to win. He wants to come to Gotham City, the Mecca, Madison Square Garden, and ruin everything for New Yorkers. That’s what he want to do. That’s the kind of spirit he got. We have to stop this man.”

"We understand that [Tom Thibodeau] is familiar with Jimmy Butler… He will go down in this series. The Garden is a different animal."

There is no doubt that Jimmy Butler is well-known for elevating his game when his team needs it the most, which is in the playoffs. He played spectacularly against the Bucks despite them being the more talented team, and his numbers speak volumes about the kind of player he is. Some fans even stated that he is Michael Jordan reincarnated.

Against the Milwaukee Bucks in his first-round series, Jimmy Butler averaged 37.6 PPG, 6.0 RPG, and 4.8 APG for the Heat. This was quite obviously superstar-level play, and the Heat will need that to continue if they are to get far in the playoffs.

Erik Spoelstra Credits Jimmy Butler’s “Psychotic” Mindset For The Miami Heat’s Win

Jimmy Butler is a player that is willing to do whatever it takes to lead his team to a win, and is clearly obsessed with winning. In fact, Erik Spoelstra claimed that Jimmy Butler’s “psychotic” mindset was the reason the team managed to get an upset over the Bucks.

“He competes to win,” the Heat head coach said. “That’s a different language. And he’s desperate and urgent, and maniacal, and sometimes psychotic about the will to try to win…and that’s why he is us and we are him.”

Hopefully, we do see Jimmy Butler have a good series against the New York Knicks. Coach Tom Thibodeau knows him well from their days together on the Bulls and likely has a few tricks up his sleeve. However, Jimmy Butler is a player that is willing to take on the challenge, and we’ll see what happens in the future.
