Dejounte Murray is part of a dynamic backcourt with Trae Young for the Atlanta Hawks, and he is well-known for being a two-way point guard that is doing a little bit of everything.
At the end of Game 4 of the Hawks’ series against the Celtics, Dejounte Murray bumped a referee and was suspended for Game 5, though the team did manage to get a good win without him. After the game, Dejounte Murray reacted to his team’s win, seemingly happy that the team will be going back to Atlanta for a Game 6.
“God is real. The devil is a lie. Tried to cheat, suspend me. We back to the A.”

There is no doubt that any other star would be happy that their team managed to get a win without them. Hopefully, we see him avoid any further suspensions in the playoffs as the team will need him if they are to get far.
Thus far in the postseason, Dejounte Murray has put up 25.3 PPG, 7.3 RPG, and 5.8 APG for the Atlanta Hawks. The team did manage to survive without him, but he will be key for them if they are to win Game 6 at home and force a Game 7.
Dejounte Murray Believes Referees Should Be Held Accountable
Dejounte Murray was not happy after his suspension, and prior to Game 5, he spoke out about it, stating that referees should be held accountable just like the players and the coaches.
“Whatever happened, happened. I think we all should be held accountable. Players, coaches, and even the referees. It shouldn’t be one-sided. It should all be fair. It’s not just players out there… At the end of the day, I’m a grown man. I hold my own and take full responsibility for not being able to play… At the end of the day, there’s a lot that led up to that. I think a lot of players can relate to those frustrations.”
It will be interesting to see if the officiating will get better as the playoffs continue to go on. Hopefully, we get more fairly officiated games in the future, and the officiating will is more likely to be better and better as we get closer and closer to the NBA Finals.
