The Memphis Grizzlies are now down 3-1 in their first-round series against the Los Angeles Lakers and Dillon Brooks isn’t taking it too well.

Following yet another disappointing showing on his part, Brooks refused to speak to the media after the game, just as he had done after Game 3.

“Dillon Brooks didn’t speak to reporters for the second straight game. ‘I’m out,’ he said.”

You can somewhat accept not speaking to the media once, but it is really not a good look to continue doing this. If you talk as much trash as he has been doing to the likes of LeBron James, then you should also be able to stand in front of the media and answer some difficult questions. You lose a lot of respect when you keep acting in this manner and it’s not like Brooks had much of it before this anyway.

He finished the night with 11 points, 5 rebounds, and 4 assists while shooting 4-11 shooting from the field and 1-7 from beyond the arc. The Lakers have been daring him to shoot three-pointers by leaving him open and instead of not falling for it, he has played right into their hands by continuing to shoot. For the series, he is now averaging 11.3 PPG, 3.0 RPG, and 2.3 APG while shooting a woeful 22.2% from beyond the arc.

Dillon Brooks Might Not Be A Member Of The Grizzlies For Much Longer

The Grizzlies have stood by Brooks amid all the drama and continue to back him despite heavy criticism. It would appear though, that they are more than willing to part ways with him and have already tried to ship him off, as per NBA insider Tim MacMahon.

MacMahon is also doubtful that Brooks would be on the team after these playoffs. If the Grizzlies were in two minds over what to do with him prior to this series, these poor performances would have made it a very easy decision for them. At the end of the day, teams will tolerate antics from players as long as they keep playing at a high level, but once that level drops, they are always quick to move on.
