After a 2-10 start to the season, the Los Angeles Lakers have worked hard to get where they currently stand. After a 2-10 start and a toxic locker room environment for months, the Lake Show are still in contention for a title as the NBA playoffs rage on.
In the first three games, the Lakers have been far from perfect, but the fans are still showing out as the Lakers push Memphis to the edge. After winning Game 3 (the first playoff home game with fans in years), team owner Jeanie Buss sent a special message to Laker Nation on Twitter.
“Lakers fans are THE best fans in all sports! You are our secret weapon. No fan base can match your passion. Please keep doing what you do…”

Crypto.com arena was rocking for Game 3, and a similar atmosphere is expected tonight in Game 4, where the Lakers will have a chance to go up 3-1 in the series.
From a team that was hoping to make the play-in tournament last month to a team now a few wins away from the Conference Semis, it has been an impressive run for the Lakers, and it’s clear that the entire organization senses that something special could be unfolding before our eyes.
Can Anthony Davis Lead Lakers To A Title?
While LeBron may be a crucial member of the team, the Lakers will only go as far as Anthony Davis takes them. If he’s able to play up to MVP levels, LA will be hard to beat for any team in a seven-game series. But if he stops playing aggressively or gets interrupted by an injury, it could send the Lakers into an ugly tailspin.
“Yeah. You have to embrace it,” said AD on being the leader. “Obviously, we have another guy in LeBron,” Davis said. “I just try to do my part. They give me the ball, I try to go score and make a play. Do the right things and make the right reads. It gives me a lot of confidence that our guys, our coaches, our organization has enough confidence in me for me to be that guy to kind of lead the charge.”
No matter what happens in Game 4, Jeanie has to be satisfied with how things panned out this season. Somehow, Rob Pelinka turned an unfixable situation into a title-contending team, and the fans couldn’t be happier with the results.
