The Golden State Warriors registered a 126-125 win over the Sacramento Kings in Game 4 of the first-round matchup. Harrison Barnes had a chance to win the game for the Kings during the final seconds.

Barnes was left wide open by the Warriors as he attempted a three-point shot, but the 30-year-old bricked the attempt. During the postgame conference, Klay Thompson shared his honest thoughts on Barnes almost winning the game for the Kings.

“I was nervous. I’m really happy Harrison missed it, he’s still my guy, but I was hoping he missed it really badly,” Thompson said. “Sometimes you need a break like that at this point of the year. It’s just a gutsy win, and a big, big defensive stop.”

Harrison Barnes’ botched game-winning shot attempt led to the Warriors leveling the series at 2-2. The Dubs will certainly thank their former player for essentially throwing the game away for them.

Barnes was drafted by the Dubs in the 2012 NBA Draft and was a member of the team until the 2015-16 NBA season. While Barnes could have gotten revenge against his former team, he ended up helping them level the series.

Harrison Barnes Reacted To Missing A Wide Open Game-Winning Shot In Game 4

Harrison Barnes has established himself as a veteran for the Kings since getting traded in the 2018-19 NBA season.

The forward was swarmed by the media after Game 4 in the locker room. Evidently, they wanted to know about his thought process after missing the potential game-winner vs. the defending champion.

Barnes was surprisingly calm about the missed shot and explained the reason behind it. He believes that after going through the 2016 NBA Finals against the Cleveland Cavaliers, one missed shot isn’t going to faze him.

“After you learn to put yourself together after 2016, I think one shot is not going to necessarily faze you. For me, it’s all about trusting the process. I got a good look, but I missed it.”

The Kings had a chance of going up 3-1 against the Warriors. The series is not over yet, but the momentum is certainly in favor of the Dubs right now. Although the Warriors have a poor record on the road, they will be much more confident in potentially winning the series right now.
