Up until a few weeks ago, Ja Morant’s name was getting dragged through the mud for brandishing a gun at a Colorado Strip Club. Due to Morant’s action, many called out the Memphis Grizzlies superstar, including Charles Barkley.
Barkley openly told Ja Morant to grow up and get better people around him. While Chuck’s message was correct, former NBA star Gilbert Arenas believes the ‘NBA on TNT’ analyst is in no position to lecture Morant for being mature. Arenas pointed out that when Charles was Ja’s age, he was immature as well.
“When you look at the NFL Network, you look at ESPN, You know those guys are three generations removed. With us, it’s Charles Barkley, Kenny, Shaq. They should already have been replaced, you just signed Charles Barkley, too, he’s three generations removed. You’re so removed that you don’t realize that when you were 23, you did worse. You didn’t realize, dude, that when you were 23. You got pulled over, and you said, ‘Yo, lemme go, I’ll have my a** tattooed with your name. … It’s like they forgot who they were, so they don’t identify with these kids. You’re like, ‘Listening to Youngboy NBA is wrong,’ well you were listening to Tupac!”

Arenas didn’t hold back when calling out the Philadelphia 76ers legend. In all honesty, Agent Zero didn’t say anything incorrect about Charles.
After all, Barkley himself once admitted that NBA players aren’t role models, and Michael Jordan agreed with his thoughts.
If Barkley can openly say NBA players are not supposed to be role models, he has already lost credibility in calling out Ja Morant for the controversies. Sure, Morant was wrong, but Barkley is the last person who has the right to berate him.
Charles Barkley Once Threw A Man Out Of A Window
Since retiring from the NBA, Charles Barkley has seemingly gotten very mature. But as Arenas mentioned, during his younger days, Chuck did a lot of stupid things.
One of them was throwing a man out of the window after getting provoked in a bar. Yes, we are not kidding.
There must be many other stories about Barkley’s “adventures” when he was young. Keeping that in mind, hopefully, he will stop giving advice to the younger generation.
As for Morant, he is back with the team and is currently going head-to-head against the Los Angeles Lakers in the first round of the playoffs.
