Domantas Sabonis had Draymond Green step on his chest during Game 2 of the first-round series between the Golden State Warriors and Sacramento Kings.
Green has been derided by fans for his actions and has addressed the incident after the game. Unfortunately, the Kings are x-raying Sabonis’ ribs and lungs based on what happened.
“Sacramento Kings All-Star Domantas Sabonis is undergoing X-rays on his ribs/lungs, sources tell ESPN. Sabonis is getting evaluated after Draymond Green stepped on him in Game 2.”

An x-ray was bound to happen just from a precautionary perspective. Sabonis played the rest of the game, so it’d be a massive surprise if he has any significant chest injury after the incident with Draymond. If there is an injury that hasn’t been discovered yet, the consequences for the Warriors forward may change.
How Does This Affect Game 3 Of The Series?
The Kings are going to go to the Chase Center and will hope to keep their red-hot form alive with a road win. The Warriors are among the best home teams in the NBA, so the Kings winning a game at the fortress that is Golden State’s home arena will not be easy. If Sabonis is hurt, the Kings will have a much more significant challenge ahead of them.
Golden State hasn’t been down 2-0 in a series since 2007, meaning this current roster has no idea what being in this position feels like. They haven’t lost a series in the Western Conference since 2014, so we may see the Warriors’ dynasty finally be defeated in the West after almost a decade.
A 3-0 deficit has never been overturned in NBA history, so the Warriors cannot afford to slip into that position under any circumstance. Sabonis being hurt may boost their chances but that also may come with a Draymond suspension, so this situation will be closely followed by everyone until Game 3 tips off on Thursday.
