The Cleveland Cavaliers suffered a big loss to the New York Knicks on Saturday night. The Cavs missed out on a big opportunity, with Jalen Brunson taking over in the final minutes of the game.

Donovan Mitchell tried hard but couldn’t help his team. Still, after the game was over, he sent a message to Cavaliers Nation.

“Look at this game alone, from start to finish we understood what it took…there are things we can clean up and be better at,” Mitchell said. “At the end of the day, I think, you know, it sucks to lose the first game at home and lose home court, but I think there’s a lot of teaching moments in this… We’ll be better. We’ll fix it. We’ll watch the film. We’ve got two days to get right and we got to protect home court.”

The Knicks played really hard against the Cavaliers, and even when things didn’t go well, they stayed focused, waiting for their opportunity. Jalen Brunson, Julius Randle, and the rest of the Knicks played great until the last second of the game.

Knicks Fans Are Happy After Big Win Over Cavaliers

Fans were happy after the New Yorkers stole Game 1 from the Cavaliers. This team has gotten better over time, and this win was great for them. After a disappointing 2021-22 season, they returned to the playoffs, looking like a dangerous squad in the Eastern Conference.

Even Stephen A. Smith was ecstatic to see his Knicks going off against a very difficult rival. This is one of the most entertaining series of the first round of the playoffs and that first game confirmed what everybody believed.

Now the Cavaliers will try to fire back and steal Game 2, but the Knicks will be ready to go back home with a comfortable 2-0 lead. Mitchell will try everything in his power to prevent that.
