Not many people know of Tari Eason. It’s unfortunate but true, and the Houston Rockets rookie had a priceless reaction when NBA fans failed to recognize him.

Eason went about asking people if they knew or heard of him, and the responses shockingly were zip, nada, zilch. You can view the responses from the clip below:

"That ain't a real player."

While one of the fans reacted by saying he’s never heard of him, another one straight-up said, “he ain’t a real player.” Some were pretty hilarious, but it wouldn’t be a stretch to imagine that Eason would be pretty bummed to know that not a lot of fans know him.

For those unaware, Eason was selected with the 17th overall pick by the Houston Rockets in the 2022 NBA draft. The 21-year-old Virginia native was named SEC’s Sixth Man of the Year in 2022 and had one of the best games this season against the Oklahoma City Thunder earlier this February.

Eason’s 20-point performance was instrumental in helping Houston pip Oklahoma 112-106. Earlier, he notched up 16 points, coupled with 8 rebounds, 4 assists, and a block, during Sunday’s 114-109 victory over the Washington Wizards. Surprising that most fans didn’t hear about an immensely talented power forward.

Tari Eason And The Rebuilding Rockets Set To Play Under A New Coach Next Season

Issues with Stephen Silas will see the Houston Rockets unit play under a new coach in the upcoming NBA season.

ESPN Sources: Among the prominent candidates in the Rockets' search will be former Celtics coach Ime Udoka, Golden State assistant Kenny Atkinson and former Lakers coach Frank Vogel. If Raptors coach Nick Nurse becomes available, he'll be a serious consideration too.

Per Adrian Wojnarowski on Twitter, “ESPN Sources: Among the prominent candidates in the Rockets’ search will be former Celtics coach Ime Udoka, Golden State assistant Kenny Atkinson and former Lakers coach Frank Vogel. If Raptors coach Nick Nurse becomes available, he’ll be a serious consideration too.”

It wasn’t a great run for the Rockets this season, as they finished 22-60 and 14th in the West. Silas couldn’t reportedly make any headway with his players and at one point, even broke down. There’s no doubt that it was a challenging time for the players and the coach, but now, they head into the new season with a new coach at the helm, and perhaps a better outcome.
