Damian Lillard Responds To Everyone Telling Him To Join The Lakers To Win A Ring: “F**k That Loyal S**t, What If Reggie Just Left The Pacers?”

Damian Lillard is one of the best players in his position, but it has become clear over the years that he may not win an NBA Championship if he stays with the Portland Trail Blazers.

Keeping that in mind, many have suggested Lillard to demand a trade and join a team like the Los Angeles Lakers. But Dame has made it abundantly clear that he has no such plans in a recent freestyle song.

“Plotting on a ring, they say I should do the Lakers. F**k that loyal s**t. What if Reggie just left the Pacers?”

Damian Lillard has been on the radar of the Los Angeles Lakers for years now. But Lillard takes pride in being loyal to the Portland Trail Blazers.

Well, it’s rare to find a player with this level of loyalty to a team in the modern-day NBA. But Lillard is paying a huge price for that loyalty. He is on track to retire from the league without winning a ring.

LeBron James Tried To Recruit Damian Lillard To The Los Angeles Lakers In 2021

Regardless of whether Damian Lillard wants to leave the Trail Blazers or not, he will constantly be approached by teams to join them. After all, he is one of the best point guards in the league. Even in the 2022-23 NBA season, Lillard averaged 32.2 PPG, 4.8 RPG, and 7.3 APG.

Anyway, LeBron James apparently tried to recruit Lillard to form a Big 3 for the Los Angeles Lakers in the summer of 2021.

“We just chopped it up just about the possibilities,” Lillard said. “’What’s going on with you?’ And I was like, ‘I really don’t know what we’re doing.’ It was just a conversation like that. I wasn’t even looking at it like a recruiting process. The whole time I was like, ‘I play for the Blazers.’ My only point is, let’s give ourselves a chance. I wasn’t sending any shots or sending no threats. I’m just honest. When I get asked a question, I answer the question. Because these questions had never been asked.”

Lillard didn’t entertain the attempts of LeBron James and instead made sure to send the message to the King that he didn’t want to leave the Trail Blazers.

Dame’s stance seems to be the same even after two years since that meeting. It feels like Lillard is all set to join the likes of Charles Barkley and Karl Malone on the list of greatest NBA players who never won the title.
