Things have been going quite well for Austin Reaves lately. The Los Angeles Lakers could end the regular season as the 6th seed, and even without it, it looks like they have a great shot at making the playoffs. Reaves has enjoyed some big games during their winning run, and the hype around him has grown.

The latest announcement about Austin Reaves has left quite a few surprised. Reaves signed with the Chinese shoe brand Rigorer last year, and they are giving him his signature shoe. As reported by Nick DePaula, Rigorer will release the AR-1 ahead of the 2023-24 campaign.

While the shoe isn’t from a prominent brand like Nike, it’s still a big accomplishment for someone that is still very much a role player. And fans had mixed reactions to the news, including some that thought it was a bit ridiculous. One fan wrote, “This guy got to be the most glorified role-player ever.”

Most NBA fans know that there is a significant buff to being part of the Los Angeles Lakers. In response to the news, a comment wondered if Reaves would get things like this if he was on another team: “Just sitting here thinking his whole career would be looking different if he got signed by the Rockets.”

Austin Reaves isn’t good enough yet to get a shoe from the major brands. And it’s good for him that he went outside the mold to make something for himself. One fan pointed that out, saying, “People whining about this like it’s a Nike signature.”

Having said that, there are stars in the league without their own shoes, which was also pointed out: “This is crazy… Jokic and DBook don’t even have one!!!”

Austin Reaves is an interesting study in making the most out of some excellent performances. He has truly arrived in the NBA, and it will be interesting to see where he goes from here.

Austin Reaves Reportedly Set To Get Multiple Offers In Free Agency This Offseason

Austin Reaves has averaged over 12 points per game this season on pretty good efficiency. He has shown good hustle, and entering free agency, there are apparently a few teams that are interested in signing him.

“Austin Reaves is expected to have multiple offers in free agency this summer,” said Jovan Buha of The Athletic.

While the Los Angeles Lakers can match any offer he gets, Reaves himself seems open to the idea of leaving the team if it comes to that. Austin Reaves is certainly carving out a nice career for himself in the NBA.
