Austin Reaves returned Patrick Beverley’s “Too Small” gesture to LeBron James in full. And that had the Los Angeles Lakers superstar provide a hilarious-yet-wholesome reply.

“AR always got my back,” James said. “Even though he loved Kobe back in the day more than me. I forgive him.”

Reaves’ love for the late Kobe Bryant is well-documented. The guard’s moniker, ‘Hillbilly Kobe’ came from his immense respect for the decorated Lakers’ legend, but it doesn’t mean he would sit around and watch when someone tried to get the better of James.

The final minutes of the fourth quarter saw Reaves outplay Beverley and sink in a shot to help the Lakers go 115-101. Adding more salt to the wounds was when he pulled off a “too small” taunt to his former teammate.

Reaves had a good outing against the Bulls with 19 points, 2 rebounds, and 5 assists. James ended his evening with 7 boards and 4 assists. The Lakers rode on Anthony Davis’ 38-point blitz coupled with 10 rebounds and 4 assists to stay in the playoff hunt trouncing the Bulls 121-110.

Austin Reaves’ Response To His ‘Too Small Celebration’

Speaking to the media in the aftermath of the solid win, Austin Reaves was all smiles when he addressed the “too small” celebration.

“He did it last time we played, to Bron. It wasn’t something I thought about doing all game. But I felt like [it was the] right time, right situation. Like you said, me and Pat got a good relationship. I respect him. It’s just me competing,” the guard explained.

Safe to say, Beverley will not be holding it against Reaves or James who made sure they dished his previous game’s antics against them in good measure. The Chicago star had a forgettable outing with 0 points, 2 rebounds, and an assist.

The win now puts the Lakers in eighth place in the Western Conference Standings and a 38-38 record. Only time will tell if Reaves can keep up his impressive run going and help the side make the postseason.
