Video: Russell Westbrook Calls Dillon Brooks ‘Trash’ Before Shooting Free Throws

Russell Westbrook has been tasked with carrying the Los Angeles Clippers to a win against a relatively healthy Grizzlies squad led by Ja Morant. He has done it admirably so far tonight.

Westbrook went 8-10 shooting in the first half in a 20-point performance. The trash-talking self of Russ was unleashed on Dillon Brooks, as Russ called the Grizzlies wing trash before shooting free throws.

This just goes to show that not many players in the NBA respect how Brooks plays on the court. Donovan Mitchell has criticized him openly after multiple dirty plays and even Kyrie Irving cold-shouldered Brooks when the pair were exchanging jerseys.

Dillon needs to realize that the market persona he’s trying to set may alienate him from his fraternity of NBA players. Another respected legend in Westbrook doing this to Dillon is not ideal for the star.

Russell Westbrook Proving He Isn’t Done Contributing Just Yet

After Russ’s time with the Lakers, many assumed that we might see him have an early retirement due to his inability to adjust his game. Instead of adjusting his game, he brought his playmaking and driving skills to the Clippers and has become a solid table-setter and rotational point guard.

Russell Westbrook is having an inspired performance against the Grizzlies. Through the first three quarters, Russ had 27 points and 10 assists on over 70% shooting from the field. This is most definitely the best game Westbrooks has had as a member of the Clippers, and he is doing without Kawhi or PG on the floor, giving him more room to operate as well.

This win is crucial in the Clippers’ goal of securing a top-6 seed for themselves. Let’s hope Westbrook can keep it up and actually take this win to keep his team’s season going.
