Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown are arguably the best one-two punch in the league, and they are both elite two-way forwards that are proficient at scoring. The duo notably made the NBA Finals together in 2022.

Despite the success of the duo, Jaylen Brown has been featured in a number of trade rumors over the last year or so, most notably being a trade candidate for Kevin Durant. Recently, Jayson Tatum opened up on what he said to Jaylen Brown during that time, claiming that he reassured his co-star that he is a “big part” of the squad.

“Just reassuring the obvious that we need him and he’s a big part of this team, this franchise. Without him, we can’t reach our goal. You guys know that the world knows that, the team knows that we need him to be the best version of ourselves,” Tatum said.

There is no doubt that the Boston Celtics need Jaylen Brown to be at his best to get to the Finals and win the championship. His two-way play is crucial for the team, and they have a good chance of getting out of the Eastern Conference this year.

This season, Jaylen Brown has averaged 26.7 PPG, 6.9 RPG, and 3.4 APG for the Boston Celtics. He is definitely a star-level player, and it’ll be interesting to see if he makes an All-NBA  team this season.

Jaylen Brown Might Leave The Boston Celtics To Be The No. 1 Option On A Team

There has definitely been some speculation about Jaylen Brown potentially leaving the Boston Celtics as of late. Recently, Paul Pierce suggested that Brown could leave to go be the No. 1 option on a team.

“Maybe Jaylen wants the opportunity to be ‘the guy’,” Pierce said on SiriusXM Radio. “We’ve seen this for years as guys have left teams. Just think (about) James Harden. James Harden wouldn’t be James Harden if he didn’t leave OKC. Tracy McGrady wouldn’t have turned into T-Mac if he didn’t leave Toronto. You never know. Maybe that’s on Jaylen’s mind or maybe he’ll stay. There’s a lot of factors that go into a mindset of a player of his caliber because we know he’s a premier player in this league. Maybe he wants the opportunity to see if he can be ‘the guy’ or who knows.”

This is definitely an interesting take, and we have definitely seen players leave good situations to try and prove that they can win as “the guy” in the past. It’ll be interesting to see if Jaylen Brown does end up leaving, but as of right now, his focus is likely on winning the championship rather than any off-season moves.
