Philadelphia 76ers general manager Daryl Morey has seemingly taken a shot at Jokic for winning the second MVP award of his career last season.

The 76ers GM tried to hit two birds with one stone in his tweet. The first part of the tweet was clearly his way of calling out the media’s double standards about which player should win the MVP award.
However, the second part of his tweet looked directed at Nikola Jokic, who won the MVP award last season. Jokic had a historic season, but the Nuggets finished sixth in the Western Conference.
Ever since Jokic won back-to-back MVP awards, there has been a narrative about how Joel Embiid was robbed of an opportunity to win the honor last season. Considering Morey is the GM of Embiid’s team, he will take the side of his player any day of the week.
Nikola Jokic Doesn’t Care About Winning Three Consecutive NBA MVP Awards
Nikola Jokic has always been the person who just wants to focus on playing basketball instead of getting into arguments about his performance.
But since Jokic is on the verge of creating history by potentially becoming the first player since Larry Bird to win three consecutive MVP awards, he is getting a lot of attention from the media.

There are only a couple of weeks left before we find out whether Jokic will win the third MVP award of his career or not. He is averaging 24.4 PPG, 11.8 RPG, and 10.0 APG so far this season and has helped the Nuggets hold a firm grip on the first seed in the Western Conference.
