Russell Westbrook may be getting a lot of the blame for the Los Angeles Clippers losing games after his arrival, but he has the backing of his teammates.

Kawhi Leonard made it clear that Westbrook wasn’t the reason why the team was losing, and now Ivica Zubac has spoken glowingly of the former MVP.

“I like it a lot,” Zubac said of Westbrook’s fit with the team. “Honestly, it’s way better than I thought it would be. I think he’s fitting in pretty good so far. He’s a great leader also, he’s very vocal, something we needed. He’s very vocal on the court, on the bench, (and) in the locker room. He got a great attitude, he’s always smiling, always laughing, (and) being very positive. So I’m super excited he is here. I think being that vocal leader and doing all the little stuff on the court is really helpful.”

The Clippers definitely could use a vocal leader like Russ. Leonard isn’t much of a talker, and Paul George has never really been thought of as a great leader, so Russ helps fill that void on the team. He has also been a positive presence in the locker room for them, which has really been the case for much of his career.

Westbrook’s been putting up some solid numbers for this new team, too, averaging 15.3 PPG, 8.3 APG, and 4.0 RPG while shooting 52.1% from the field. There are some clear flaws in his game, like his lack of outside shooting and the turnovers, but he is still a solid starting-caliber player who can help this team.

Paul George Revealed Why He And Kawhi Leonard Wanted Russell Westbrook

George had made it clear after the Los Angeles Lakers traded Westbrook that he wanted him on the Clippers. The team fulfilled his wish, and George revealed on the first episode of “Podcast P” why both he and Leonard wanted Westbrook on the team.

PG said they needed a point guard after trading away both Reggie Jackson and John Wall. He hilariously stated that he tried to play in that position but realized fairly quickly that it wasn’t for him.
