LeBron James has another reason to flaunt his latest piece of jewelry — a custom gold chain with a lion rewarded by his team and the league for surpassing Kareem Abdul-Jabbar as the leading run-scorer in NBA history.

The chain, designed by Elliante is as detailed as it can get. On the top of the box is an inscription that reads, ‘The Kid from Akron’ and the pendant is a massive lion’s head with a crown on top. James’ jersey numbers 23 and 6 are engraved as are the teams he’s played for at the back of the pendant. The best part though was the other inscription that said “LeBron James Record: 38,388 and counting”

And James took to Instagram to flaunt the chain in all its glory. Earlier, he had showcased an impressive-looking ring that he was awarded after he became part of the NBA’s 75th-anniversary team.

All things considered, the major silverware James is looking for is his fifth title. The four-time champ, who also has four NBA Finals MVPs and four regular-season MVPs has maintained that it’s a title or nothing throughout this season. These pieces of jewelry just become the icing on the cake if he indeed leads the Lakers to another championship.

When Will LeBron James Return For The Los Angeles Lakers?

Despite all the awards of recognition, James is a notable absentee for the Los Angeles Lakers at the moment. The veteran has been dealing with ankle issues and he aggravated them against the Dallas Mavericks.

An earlier update on James’ injury said that he avoided surgery, but he could still miss extended time. Recently, The Athletic’s Shams Charania revealed that the injury may sideline him for more than the next three weeks.

“Three weeks next evaluation for him… I don’t know if the Lakers think he’s gonna be back in 3 weeks. I don’t think it’ll be just the 3 weeks — likely beyond that,” Charania said.

As the Lakers gun for a playoff spot, James will look to recover and be ready to help the team make a deeper run should they make the postseason. LA has less than 20 games remaining to make the push, and only time will tell if the forward can indeed lead them to the promised land.
