The Cleveland Cavaliers and Boston Celtics delivered an extremely competitive game in an OT thriller in which the Cavs won 114-118.

They could’ve lost the game at the end of regulation when the game was tied at 109 and Grant Williams went to the free throw line after telling Donovan Mitchell he would make both his shots.

Unfortunately for Williams, he missed both shots and the game went to OT. The Celtics simply couldn’t keep up with the Cavaliers as Mitchell’s 40 points and 10 rebounds led to a very impressive win.

This was the Celtics’ third loss in a row. The team was without Jayson Tatum but were led admirably by Jaylen Brown‘s 32 points, 13 rebounds, and 9 assists performance.

Even Mobley had a strong 25 points and 17 rebounds while Darius Garland became the third Cav on the night with a double-double, scoring 16 points while dishing out 12 assists.

Boston Losing Their Stranglehold On The East?

For most of this season, the Celtics have been far and away the best team in the NBA. They led the Eastern Conference for most of the season until recently relinquishing that spot to the Milwaukee Bucks. With this loss, the Celtics are now 2 games behind the Bucks who recently enjoyed a 16-game winning streak.

The Denver Nuggets also have a better win percentage on the season than Boston, meaning the Celtics are now the third-best team in the league. While their roster is undoubtedly one of the most dangerous in the league, their dip in form has been extremely worrying.

The Celtics have lost 4 out of their last 5 games. Reliable production from the rest of the roster outside their two stars will be crucial for the team going forward.
