Kyrie Irving is one of the massive names heading into the 2023 free agency, and the Philadelphia 76ers are reportedly one of the new names considered as a potential landing spot for the guard.

During a recent appearance on ‘Pardon The Interruption’, NBA Insider Brian Windhorst stated as much.

“There may be an option there for Kyrie Irving as he continues to assess that situation, so I would not be surprised if we see Kyrie wanting to investigate what’s going on in Philadelphia. If Harden moves out, if there’s a window for him to come in.”

While the Dallas Mavericks and the Los Angeles Lakers are considered frontrunners to land Irving, the Sixers have joined the fray.

Despite averaging 27.1 points, 5.1 rebounds, 5.5 assists, 1.1 steals, and 0.8 blocks per game for the Dallas Mavericks, the team failed to make the playoffs, and earlier, the 31-year-old outlined that his whole objective was to win another ring.

Harden opting into his $35.6 million deal for next season shows that his time in Philadelphia is all but done, and Irving, alongside Joel Embiid, will make for an interesting choice. The Sixers have consistently done well, but have failed to get over the hump. Is Irving the star they are looking for? Only time will tell.

Kyrie Irving Wants His Next NBA Franchise To Be His Last

Prior to the Kyrie to Philly development, the mercurial guard had said that he wanted the next NBA team that he plays for will be the one he will want to last with.

According to ESPN’s Ramona Shelburne, Irving is looking for his next team to be the last of his career as he searches for a “place that feels like home.”

The Mavericks guard spent his formative years with the Cleveland Cavaliers before moving on to the Boston Celtics, Brooklyn Nets, and eventually with the Mavericks.

While Dallas is confident that Irving will indeed re-sign with them, nothing is guaranteed until the deal goes official. Whether Philly will be his last NBA team remains to be seen.
