Bradley Beal has the chance to make the first deep playoff run of his career on the Phoenix Suns, after ending his 12-year tenure with the Washington Wizards with a trade this offseason.
The last time Beal made the playoffs was in 2021 alongside Russell Westbrook, someone he chose to remember for pushing him the hardest in his career during his Suns’ unveiling press conference.
“I’ll be pushed. The last time I was around, that was Russ. Seeing Russ every single day, his work ethic, his mentality. That took my game to another level. I think it’ll be the same here, around a championship coach, around KD, who has two, Book has played in the Finals, and DA has played in the Finals. Their mentality is going to be very different from what I’ve seen.”

Beal averaged 23.2 points, 3.9 rebounds, and 5.4 assists last season, a down year by the former scoring champion’s lofty standards. He’ll hope to rediscover that form on a floor spaced by Devin Booker and Kevin Durant, with Deandre Ayton waiting in the middle.
Can The Suns Figure Out How To Fill Out This Roster
Even though it seems the Suns will be taking a meeting with Kyrie Irving to open free agency, it’s unlikely Irving will spurn over $200 million from the Mavericks to join the Suns on a minimum, which is all they can offer him. The Suns can’t acquire Irving in a sign-and-trade either due to cap rules, so they need to zone in on the bargain bin to quickly swoop up the best minimum contract players in the league.
They’ll be looking to bring back their own free agents like Josh Okogie and Darius Bazley, while also looking at more reinforcements on the frontcourt. Maybe Taurean Prince is willing to come to Phoenix on a minimum and be a high-level contributor to their squad? Kevin Love will be hitting free agency again and could be a veteran spacer for them.
The options are strong, and the Suns will definitely be the most attractive free agency destination this summer for players looking to have a role on a title contender.
