Anthony Edwards is not just evolving into a superstar; he’s becoming a full-blown postseason nightmare for NBA legends. Over the past two years, the 22-year-old Timberwolves phenom has torched through some of the most elite names in basketball, stacking up an eye-popping elimination checklist that reads like a Hall of Fame ballot.

Kevin Durant, Devin Booker, Bradley Beal, Nikola Jokic, Jamal Murray, LeBron James, Luka Doncic, Jimmy Butler, Draymond Green, and even a banged-up Stephen Curry, Ant has taken them all down.

In the 2024 NBA Playoffs, Edwards began his postseason assault by leading Minnesota to a first-round sweep of the Phoenix Suns. That alone meant sending home the trio of Durant, Booker, and Beal. It was an emphatic statement.

But the bigger shock came in the second round, where the Timberwolves stunned the defending champion Denver Nuggets in seven games. Edwards outshone three-time MVP Nikola Jokic and star guard Jamal Murray, firmly establishing himself as one of the league’s premier two-way forces.

Although the Wolves fell to the Dallas Mavericks in the Western Conference Finals in just five games, Edwards averaged 27.6 points, 7.0 rebounds, and 6.5 assists during the 2024 postseason, shooting an elite 48.1% from the field and 40.0% from beyond the arc. He was the undisputed leader of a young, hungry team knocking on the door of greatness.

Fast-forward to 2025, and Edwards is now breaking through that door. In a first-round rematch with the revamped Los Angeles Lakers, now led by LeBron James and Luka Doncic, it was Edwards who took control of the series.

Minnesota dispatched L.A. in five games, eliminating two more marquee names. Edwards didn’t flinch once, seizing the spotlight and proving that age and experience were no match for his explosiveness, confidence, and motor.

Then came the Golden State Warriors in the second round. Though Stephen Curry suffered a hamstring strain after Game 1, the Timberwolves still eliminated a roster led by Jimmy Butler and Draymond Green in just five games.

While some may question including Curry due to injury, the fact remains: the Warriors were favored once they won Game 1, but they never won again. Edwards crushed their hopes, dominating the series with clutch shot-making, lockdown defense, and unshakable composure.

Through 26 playoff games over the last two seasons, Anthony Edwards has averaged 27.2 points, 7.4 rebounds, and 6.3 assists, shooting 46.3% from the field and 39.3% from deep.

This year alone, he’s putting up 26.5 points, 8.0 rebounds, and 5.9 assists on 44.5% shooting, continuing to impact both ends with relentless energy and maturity beyond his years.

He now joins Kevin Durant as the only player in NBA history to lead his team in postseason scoring and reach back-to-back Conference Finals before turning 24.

Edwards doesn’t just want to win, he wants to go through the best to get there. And so far, he’s building a resume that already demands respect.
