Trae Young is one of the best point guards in the league, and there is no doubt that he is an insane offensive talent. However, one of the things that analysts have recently brought into question about Young is his leadership in the locker room, amidst coach Nate McMillan’s firing.

Recently, Stephen A. Smith called out Trae Young, claiming that he needs to re-evaluate how he looks in the situation, noting that he has gotten multiple coaches fired within the last few years.

“He needs to realize how he looks in all of this”, said Smith. “Two coaches have been fired inside of three years coaching Trae Young. That’s something that you need to look at if you’re him… Why is it that you are the star that you are… but they’re still searching for a coach for you… We all love him as a talent… Two black coaches have been fired under his watch, that bothers me.”

Reports indicate Quin Snyder will be Trae Young’s third head coach in five years.

There is no doubt that Trae Young has been criticized heavily this year, especially since the team has played poorly overall this season after acquiring Dejounte Murray. Hopefully, things change in the future, and winning cures everything.

Trae Young Clapped Back At People That Called Him A Coach Killer

Recently, we saw Trae Young clap back at the notion that he is someone that is a “coach killer”. He claimed that everyone is going to say what they want, noting that there are a lot of players that have played for many coaches.

“Oh, people are gonna say what they got to say”, said Trae Young. “I mean, a lot of players have played for a lot of coaches. So, I don’t look at it like that. I’m not looking at the next coach that comes in here or whatever. I’m just trying to, I’m trying to win championships. So, whatever it is, I’m just trying to win. So that’s all I care about.”

There’s no doubt that having the right coach is important for any team. Though Nate McMillan did manage to make the Eastern Conference Finals in 2021, it is clear from recent results that he wasn’t the right fit for the team in terms of sustainable success.

It has been reported that Quin Snyder is close to becoming the Atlanta Hawks’ coach, and hopefully, he will help the team succeed. He has a reputation as a defensive-minded coach, and we’ll see how well he does in the future.
