When healthy, Zach LaVine is one of the best shooting guards in the league. He is a three-level scorer that is most well-known for his slashing and 3PT shooting. Currently, Zach LaVine is averaging 24.0 PPG, 4.9 RPG, and 4.1 APG for the Chicago Bulls.

There is no doubt that scoring is Zach LaVine’s best attribute is his scoring, and he could definitely end up being the No. 1 option for the Chicago Bulls going forward. In fact, newly acquired point guard Patrick Beverley stated that he has already told Zach LaVine that his job is to score.

Patrick Beverley on encouraging Zach LaVine to shoot more readily: “A lot of shots he kind of hesitates. I told him, ‘Your job here is not to pass at all. We don't need you to pass. We need you to put the ball in the hole at an elite level.'”

“A lot of shots he kind of hesitates. I told him, ‘Your job here is not to pass at all. We don’t need you to pass. We need you to put the ball in the hole at an elite level.’”

Zach LaVine having more of a scorer’s mentality could end up being a good thing for the Chicago Bulls, and perhaps having Patrick Beverley on the roster to provide leadership and guidance can help take him to the next level as a player.

Patrick Beverley Wants To Make A Playoff Push With The Bulls

Previously, Patrick Beverley revealed that he had a choice between joining the Warriors or the Bulls. However, he noted that he picked the Bulls as the Warriors already had a lot of guards, also noting that he could “make a playoff push” with the Bulls.

“It was between Golden State and the Bulls. Obviously it’s always good to play with a lot of great talent in Golden State but a lot of guards over there. I figured I can make a playoff push with the Bulls. Pump them up a little bit, the East’s kinda weak. I’m excited man.”

It remains to be seen what sort of impact Patrick Beverley ends up having on the Chicago Bulls. He definitely projects a player that can really help the team on the defensive end and with his leadership. Perhaps Beverley can be a difference-maker for a Bulls team that has seemingly lacked fire and direction this year. The team was notably interested in Russell Westbrook prior to signing Beverley, and it is clear that they wanted a point guard to fill out their roster.

Hopefully, we will see the Chicago Bulls find some degree of success this season. There is definitely a realistic chance for them to make the playoffs, and there is no question that Patrick Beverley will help them in that pursuit.
