LeBron James Says He’s A Positionless Basketball Player

LeBron James perfectly describes himself as a basketball player.

LeBron James has become, without any hesitation, one of the best players in NBA history. The King has broken and set records during his 20-year career, exceeding the expectations people had for him before he made it to the league, becoming one of the best to ever do it.

James did all of this while playing a different type of basketball, doing pretty much everything on the court to help his team win. Ever since he made it to the league in 2003, LeBron’s game has evolved, and even though he’s considered the greatest small forward of all time, the 38-year-old superstar doesn’t think he has a position on the court.

In fact, LeBron recently sat down with legendary head coach Mike Krzyzewski to discuss a series of topics, including his remarkable all-time scoring record, which he broke a couple of weeks ago. During TNT’s “LeBron and Coach K talk legacy” special, the King reflected on his game, claiming that he doesn’t have a determined position on the court (14:27 mark).

“I’m not a point guard, I’m not a shooting guard, I’m not a small forward, a power forward. I’m a basketball player. Whatever the team needs, you can put me on the floor, you can implement me in there and I can make it happen,” LeBron said.

This isn’t new for the King, as he stated the same in 2020, describing himself as a basketball player and not adding any other tag to his game. He knows he can impact matches in different ways, and he’s proven that over the years.

LeBron James Is Ready To Take The Los Angeles Lakers To The NBA Playoffs

This season, he will have to prove that once again, as the Los Angeles Lakers have struggled to get things going this campaign. Bron has been playing at a high level recently, and the new-look Lakers now have a big responsibility: reach the playoffs with 23 games to play.

James has made it clear that these will be 23 of the most important games of his career, and he’s ready for that challenge. The Lakers have had a tumultuous 2022-23 NBA season, but it seems like they are seeing the light at the end of the tunnel. They can start a good thing after the All-Star break, and if they get in that momentum, this team will be a nightmare for a bunch of rivals in the West.

We’ll have to sit and wait for what these Lakers can do, but they seem to be getting better by the day, and their new additions are playing just fine. They are in an intriguing position, but LeBron is ready to take them to the top once again.
