The Dallas Mavericks have been a huge topic of discussion as of late, as the team has managed to acquire Kyrie Irving in a trade with the Brooklyn Nets. This is generally considered to be a good move for the team, as they could potentially win the championship this season.

Even though the Kyrie Irving trade was a solid move, the team’s track record in terms of trades has not been the best. A recent post from a Reddit user revealed that the team has moved 7 players and 3 picks only for those assets to become Kyrie Irving, Davis Bertans, and Tim Hardaway Jr. as of now.

The Dallas Mavericks have made a few wrong moves, but they still have the assets to become a championship-level team in the future. It is wild that all of those assets turned only into three players, but that’s sometimes how things go in the league. Hopefully, we see the Dallas Mavericks make better moves going forward.

The Dallas Mavericks Are High On The Pairing Of Kyrie Irving And Luka Doncic

The Dallas Mavericks definitely needed another offensive player next to Luka Doncic, and Kyrie Irving seems like a perfect fit based on his shot creation skills but also his ability to play off the ball well. Recently, Mark Cuban stated that he believes the duo can “play off each other”, noting that the partnership is going to be “great for both of them”.

“I think this is going to be great for both of them,” Cuban told Basketball News. “They can play off of each other and given that both can get where they want on the court, it’s going to put a ton of pressure on defenses.”

Hopefully, things do work out for the Dallas Mavericks as planned. Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving have some huge potential as a duo, but ultimately what matters most is their ability, or lack thereof to win a championship soon. Kyrie Irving is supposedly hyped to join up with Luka Doncic, so it is clear that they’ll try to make things work.

There is no doubt that Luka Doncic and Kyrie Irving have the talent to make their partnership work. They are both insanely good offensive talents, and Luka Doncic made the Western Conference Finals last year with the lack of a true co-star. Adding an All-NBA player could make the Dallas Mavericks extremely dangerous for the contenders in the West, and we’ll see how far the Mavericks can get in the playoffs.
