The now-official Kyrie Irving trade could spark a series of reactions around the NBA, as not only the Dallas Mavericks were the only team trying to make a move ahead of the 2023 trade deadline.

Now that Kyrie is headed to Texas after the Nets completed a big trade with the Mavs, the Brooklynites appear to be in a complex position regarding their superstar, Kevin Durant. Reports suggested that KD was shocked by Kyrie’s trade request, just like the rest of the league, but that wasn’t the end for him.

As soon as the news saw the light, many fans speculated about the future of Durant on the Nets, claiming that it was a matter of time before we saw him playing for a different team in the association.

Phoenix Suns Will Try To Make A Run For Kevin Durant Again

It seems like teams around the league took notice of that and started working, as the Phoenix Suns are now mentioned as a potential landing spot for the 2x NBA champion, who could be on the move too now that Kyrie is gone.

According to Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report, the Suns are keeping tabs on Durant’s situation in Brooklyn, as they want to land him.

The Phoenix Suns are prepared to pursue Brooklyn Nets star Kevin Durant should he become available, league sources tell.

Last year when KD requested a trade from the Nets, the Suns were considered one of his favorite spots. However, the team never made an actual move to land the former NBA MVP, who had to return to the Nets for this season.

Now, things could change and the Suns could finally acquire KD, but everything depends on what the Nets decide to do with him. The Suns are struggling to get things going this season and perhaps the addition of KD could take them to the next level.

We have until Thursday to know what will happen here, and we could be seeing the Nets making a big move once again if the right offer comes to the table.
