Cam Thomas has the perfect opportunity to flourish on the Brooklyn Nets after the team made consecutive trades to send Kyrie Irving and Kevin Durant out of the squad for a new direction of the team.
With younger players getting more opportunities, Thomas is one of the prime beneficiaries, having had consecutive 40-point games after Kyrie was traded. He’s going to be key in the Nets’ future as a microwave scorer that could be their end-game closer.
The Irving trade brought over Spencer Dinwiddie and Dorian Finney-Smith to the Nets, with Dinwiddie joking that the Nets traded for them because they’re good-looking. Thomas responded to the comment after the new-look Nets beat the Chicago Bulls last night.

“He just talking man, We already had good-looking dudes, no homo. You know how it goes..”
Thomas had to issue a post-game apology for his ‘no homo’ comment.

The Nets are looking fun and exciting again, just like they did in 2018. After they add the smattering of players from the Phoenix Suns like Mikal Bridges, this team is good enough to hold on to their playoff spot and be a tough matchup.
Are The Brooklyn Nets Going To Remain Competitive?
Even without Kevin Durant and Kyrie Irving, the Nets have many players with playoff experience and young players with high ceilings. Nicolas Claxton and Cam Thomas can develop further as the core duo of this team going forward. They have great veterans in Dorian Finney-Smith and Spencer Dinwiddie as well.
The KD trade gave them a DPOY runner-up in Mikal Bridges, along with Cam Johnson. The Nets have an abundance of 3-and-D wings with a lot to prove. They’re already well-positioned for the playoffs and this team shouldn’t have a dramatic falloff and crash out of the playoff race.
