Fans Want Lakers To Trade Russell Westbrook After Clippers’ Loss: “This Has To Be The Last Straw”

Lakers fans are done with the Russell Westbrook experience, asking for him to be traded once and for all before the trade deadline.

The Los Angeles Lakers looked extremely optimistic after a good trade that saw them acquire Rui Hachimura from the Washington Wizards. However, one rivalry match after they acquired Rui has scuppered the positive vibes from the fanbase.

The Lakers fell to a rather ugly loss to the Los Angeles Clippers, which saw LeBron James put on a herculean 46-point performance in just 32 minutes. His teammates didn’t step up, and the Lakers were thoroughly outmatched. A key issue from the game was Russell Westbrook, who had an ugly turnover from an in-bounds that caused an 8-0 run that ruined a Lakers’ comeback. It also led to an argument between Westbrook and Dennis Schroder on the bench.

Fans are sick of Westbrook’s inconsistent fourth-quarter contributions and are begging the team to trade him away while they have a chance.

The San Antonio Spurs are allegedly still looking at a possible trade for Russell Westbrook, and that may help the Lakers. If they can find a third team, the Lakers could possibly acquire 3 role-players that match what the team needs.

Do The Lakers Need To Move On From Russell Westbrook?

There is an option to move off Westbrook, but is it worth the price LA might have to pay? The Lakers will need to part with a first-round pick to get someone to take the Westbrook contract, even if it is for just half a season. If it’s a team like the Spurs, what they have to offer might not be good enough for the Lakers to part with a future asset.

If they can attach both picks and get a star or get enough depth to make a run, the Lakers might have attractive options. But with Jeanie Buss looking to protect the future of the squad, it’s unlikely a Westbrook trade will happen unless a difference-making player can be acquired.
