From being drafted as the 41st overall pick in the 2014 NBA Draft by the Denver Nuggets, Nikola Jokic has certainly come a long way in his NBA journey. The 27-year-old has only gotten better with each passing season.

Last season, Nikola Jokic won the second MVP award of his career. He joined an elite list after winning two consecutive MVP awards. Keeping that in mind, there are not many who think that Jokic will win the third consecutive MVP award of his career. In fact, Jokic himself doesn’t want to win the award for the third straight time.

Despite saying that, Jokic is definitely playing at an MVP level. He proved that in the Denver Nuggets’ phenomenal victory against the Boston Celtics. In the 123-111 win recorded 30 points, 12 rebounds, and 12 assists while playing just 32 minutes. Many fans believe that Jokic truly showed why he should win the MVP award once again.

Michael Malone Claps Back At People Who Do Not Want Nikola Jokic To Win The MVP Award

Jokic’s triple-double against the Boston Celtics took his season triple-double tally to 9. He is currently leading the league in triple-doubles and doesn’t seem to be stopping anytime soon. After all, he’s averaging 25.7 PPG, 10.9 RPG, and 9.5 APG so far this season.

Keeping this in mind, the head coach of the Denver Nuggets, Michael Malone, called out everyone who does not want to see Jokic win the third MVP of his career.

Michael Malone: If people’s reason for not giving Nikola a third MVP is because he’s already won two in a row, “that’s lazy.”

Voters’ fatigue is an actual thing, and we have seen many players’ chances of winning MVP awards get ruined because of it. This is one of the prime reasons why most believe that Jokic will not lift the third consecutive MVP award of his career. But as Malone pointed out, that’s just lazy, and we hope the better candidate takes home the award.
