Luka Doncic and the Dallas Mavericks found themselves with a 15-16 record after a loss to the Minnesota Timberwolves on the 19th of December. Things just weren’t going their way, and it seemed like a disappointing season might be on the cards.
That was when Luka decided to take over and lead the Mavericks to a 6-game winning run. His performances in his last five games, in particular, have been otherworldly, and he is making a strong case for MVP. While he amazes us on the court, Luka is also having some fun, and he pulled off a ridiculous “No Luka” shot.

He apparently did it on the first try too, which, if true, is insane. We saw the video of Stephen Curry knocking down 5 full-court shots in a row take social media by storm, only for it to later be confirmed as fake, so it is not a surprise that people are a bit skeptical about this one.
The Mavericks Need To Surround Luka Doncic With More Talent
While it is great to see Luka Doncic dominate games in the manner that he has been doing recently, it is far from ideal in the long run. It took a 60-point triple-double from him just to beat the New York Knicks in overtime, and they needed all of his 51 points to sneak away with a win against the San Antonio Spurs.
The Mavs are missing some players, sure, but none of them would be massive difference-makers who can reduce the load on Doncic. The Mavs need to upgrade the roster around him, and if they don’t, they’ll ultimately always fall short in the postseason. One player, no matter how great, isn’t going to win a championship by himself, and we have seen that so many times in NBA history. Doncic is happy to stay with the Mavs at the moment, but if they keep falling short in the playoffs in the coming years, then it won’t be a surprise if he feels the need to leave.
