Stephen Curry isn’t by any means the most physically imposing presence on the court but there are few sights more terrifying in the NBA than when he gets going. We have seen that on almost a nightly basis over the last couple of seasons, as he has been torching defenses like it is nothing.
Curry was averaging 30.0 PPG on 50-40-90 shooting splits before he was sidelined with a shoulder injury and he has just carried on from his excellent showing in the NBA Finals against the Boston Celtics. Juan Toscano-Anderson had a front-row seat to watch Curry tear apart that vaunted Celtics defense, that had stymied the likes of Kevin Durant and Giannis Antetokounmpo in the past rounds. Recently on the Outta Pocket podcast, he spoke on Curry’s iconic Game 6 moment when he pointed to his ring finger after hitting a deep three and added that there’s no one who can stop Curry when he is in the zone.

“When he’s in his zone, you know when he’s in his zone, and he doesn’t do s*** like that. He’s not an arrogant person. When you push him to that point, when you make him mad and he’s trying to prove a point or he’s in his zone, then that type of sauce comes out. So when he was doing that, I knew it was over. Cause when Steph’s in his zone, nobody can stop him. Can’t nobody guard him, bro. Nobody. Not a soul in the NBA can guard him.”
There is really nothing you can do when Curry starts launching those three-pointers from more than 30 feet out. It is also probably the most demoralizing sight for defenses, as you can have the perfect defensive game plan coming into the contest, but none of it matters when Curry is in the zone. He is the greatest shooter we have ever seen and we cannot wait to see him get back on the court.
The Warriors Finally Got Going Without Stephen Curry
The Warriors had been a mess since Curry got injured against the Pacers, as they lost that game and proceeded to lose 3 of the next 4 as well. Their only win came against the Raptors who were struggling massively at the time and many felt that Golden State would get embarrassed without Curry against the Memphis Grizzlies.
Instead, the Warriors rose to the occasion and blew away the Grizzlies in stunning fashion. There was also a lot of taunting going on after all the talking the Grizzlies had been doing recently and we hope that these teams get to face off in the playoffs.
