Wally Szczerbiak has eaten his words after Tyrese Haliburton proved him wrong. Following a heated rant from the former player, the Indiana Pacers’ young star has been on one, shutting doubters down, but especially Wally.

After Szczerbiak dared to say Tyrese Haliburton was a ‘wannabe All-Star,’ the player went off. He fired back at Wally, saying he didn’t know who he was but also letting his game speak for him. Following a New York Knicks win over the Pacers last Sunday, the comments by Szczerbiak went viral, and Haliburton wasn’t having any of that.

The guard keeps playing at an incredible level now, leading the Indiana Pacers to compete in the difficult Eastern Conference when everybody thought they would tank. With rumors suggesting Myles Turner and Buddy Hield being traded away, many folks thought that this team would be one of the weakest in the East.

Wally Szczerbiak Admits Tyrese Haliburton Is An NBA All-Star

On Friday night, the Pacers took on the Miami Heat, a team who has struggled to get things going this season but is still a threat to anybody in the East. Haliburton didn’t run away from the challenge and went off on the Floridian, scoring 40 points until the last seconds of the game.

He finished the night with a game-winning 3-pointer, beating the Heat and completing his 43-point night that delighted everybody around the association.

Following the game, Wally reacted to Tyrese’s big performance, praising him with a now-deleted tweet by The NBA Central. He backpedaled from his initial comments, giving Haliburton his damn respect and calling him a legit All-Star.

Haliburton also took to Instagram to fire back at Wally again, telling him and everybody else to be careful about poking the bear (last slide).

Many think Trae Young is the new villain at Madison Square Garden, but the disrespect from Szczerbiak could make Haliburton take that spot. At the end of the day, the Pacers see Haliburton as their new Reggie Miller, and he could embrace that role with more incredible performances against the Knicks.
