The Golden State Warriors haven’t had the ideal start to their title defense, to say the least. The defending champions find themselves with a 15-18 record after 33 games, which is in stark contrast to this stage last season, where they were 27-6.

The biggest reason for this stunning downturn is their record on their travels. The Warriors are an excellent 12-2 at Chase Center for one of the best home records in the NBA, but their 3-16 record on the road is the worst in the league. While Golden State wasn’t amazing on their travels last season, they still went a respectable 22-19. Draymond Green was asked about their struggles on the road, and he believes it is all mental.

Draymond Green says the Warriors' road struggles are a "mental" issue.

"Right now I think we're very fragile," he said.

Draymond Green says the Warriors’ road struggles are a “mental” issue.

“Right now I think we’re very fragile,” he said.

To a certain extent, this has to be mental because it is basically the same group as last season, with a few exceptions. They didn’t suddenly just turn into bad players away from home, and it has to be a mental block of sorts. They will be putting their road woes aside for a bit now, as their next 8 games are all at home, although it seems unlikely that they’ll have Stephen Curry during that stretch as he recovers from a shoulder injury.

The Road Record Is The Most Worrying Flaw For The Warriors

That home stand will be followed by a 5-game road trip, and the Warriors need to find a way to quickly fix this problem. It is looking more and more likely that the best they can hope for is to get one of the final four seeds for the playoffs, and that would mean having to win at least one road game in every series.

An NBA analyst also stated that this road record is the most troubling flaw for the Warriors in their quest for back-to-back titles. It is difficult to flip the switch from being absolutely terrible away from home to becoming capable of beating the elite teams in the Western Conference on the road in every round of the playoffs. If anyone can do it, though, it’s probably the Warriors

Marion’s versatility as a defender and his rebounding prowess, despite being just 6’7”, impressed Gautam immensely. He admired Marion’s finishing ability at the rim and his shooting, despite an unconventional jump shot, believing that Marion’s skill set would have been even more appreciated in today’s NBA.This transformative experience not only deepened his love for basketball but also shaped his approach to sports writing, enabling him to connect with readers through vivid storytelling and insightful analysis.
