LeBron James Explains Why He’s Winning The Race With Father Time Right Now

One of the things that LeBron James is well-known for is his longevity. The Los Angeles Lakers star has been able to play at a superstar level for almost his entire career, and even now, LeBron James is dominating with the Los Angeles Lakers. Currently, LeBron James is averaging 27.0 PPG, 8.5 RPG, and 6.5 APG.

Recently, LeBron James revealed that his quest to “beat Father Time” started when he was 10 years old, claiming that he was already taking care of his body at that time. He also stated that he believes he is “winning” that race with Father Time.

“It hasn’t changed. I’ve just learned more about my body and how to prepare my body. But I’ve been taking care of my body since I started playing basketball. Like, even when I was younger — you can ask any of my best friends growing up — before I went to sleep I would stretch and as soon as I would wake up I would stretch. I was like, 10 years old.

“In high school, I was one of the few guys that would ice after the game. My rookie year I was icing after the game, as well. But, as I got older and older and older, I started to figure out other ways that I could beat Father Time by putting in more time on my game and on my craft. But mostly on my body and my mind. I feel like if my mind can stay as fresh as it possibly can through a grueling up-and-down NBA season — which it is — then my body is going to be able to try and perform at the highest level.

“So, I’ve always wanted to maximize even the most out of my career and squeeze the most juice I can out of my career. I’m having a good race with Father Time right now, as you can see from some of the commercials … I feel like I’m winning.”

There is no doubt that LeBron James could probably play in the league for quite some time. Even though he is nearing the age of 38, he is still considered a top-10 player in the NBA. One of his goals is to play with his son Bronny in the NBA, and he will likely continue to work on his body until he achieves that goal.

LeBron James Could Break The Scoring Record This Year

One of the biggest things that LeBron James could potentially accomplish this year is breaking Kareem Abdul-Jabbar’s scoring record. Abdul-Jabbar has already stated that he is excited for that to happen, and there’s no doubt that this will be a big accomplishment for James.

Hopefully, we see LeBron James get the record this year, but also lead the Los Angeles Lakers to wins while doing so. With Anthony Davis injured, the burden of keeping the Los Angeles Lakers afloat falls solely on LeBron James’ shoulders, and we’ll see if the superstar is up to the challenge.
