Lakers fans call out the front office for lack of depth amid AD's recent injury

Los Angeles basketball is in a pretty rough state right now. As the science experiment continues to operate in Clipperland, the Lakers are considering all their options amid the latest development of Anthony Davis.

After suffering a foot injury in Friday’s 126-108 win over the Nuggets, Davis left the game and has been ruled out for at least the next month. While this is obviously horrible news for the Lakers, neither LeBron nor his co-star is getting the blame.

Instead, Lakers fans have been calling out Jeanie Buss and Rob Pelinka for failing to build a team deep enough to contend. And now that AD’s out, the quality of the roster is really going to get exposed.

“The Lakers have failed LeBron. They know Anthony Davis is injury-prone and decided to surround Bron with no depth. Rob Pelinka promised he would do everything in his power to protect LeBron’s legacy. Now for the next month his best teammate is undrafted sophomore Austin Reaves.”

AD hurt, Lakers most likely not gonna make any trades and now Bron gonna take up most of the minutes at C? I hate this organization I hate Jeanie Buss and I hate Rob Pelinka. pic.twitter.com/LFehXldBU9

Rob Pelinka & Jeanie Buss need to step down from their positions. The franchise is going out sad. They’re the worst GM & Owner in pro sports #LakeShow

I WILL LEAD THE RIOT TO GET PELINKA OUT OF TOWN!!!! Jeanie not far behind because of my respect for her beloved late father Dr. Jerry Buss. https://t.co/quLGbdYcuc

What Jeanie Buss and Rob Pelinka are doing to Bron and AD needs to be investigated by the FBI

Jeanie Buss had LeBron and AD dropped into her hands and her and Pelinka managed to fuck it up to the point where they aren’t even in the play in.

Nobody can control injuries, and nobody is blaming the Lakers for Davis being out again. What fans are calling out Pelinka for is his failure to build a roster that can withstand a couple of weeks without Davis, who has been known to be injury prone since before becoming a Laker.

Now, without Davis for a month, James is going to be out there alone with what might be the worst supporting cast in the NBA.

Is This A Lost Season For The Lakers?

With multiple months still left to go in this season, it’s not too late for the Lakers to make a run and sneak back into the play-in tournament. If they can just get there, then they’ll at least have a chance to make some noise.

Unfortunately, it doesn’t seem like Rob Pelinka will be making a move before the end of this month.

“When are the Lakers likely to make a trade? Not for at least two to four weeks (the end of December through mid-January), according to multiple league sources with knowledge of their plans. NBA trade history shows that trades don’t happen until January on the early side. Most happen within the final week of the trade deadline. There are exceptions, of course, and the Lakers hope to be one of them.”

It remains to be seen if James can keep his team afloat without the help of their go-to offensive scorer, but he’s got his work cut out for him.

At 37 years old, James shouldn’t be asked to lead the Lakers on his own, but that’s what he’s got to do if this team wants any chance of staying alive in the Western Conference.
