At 37 years old, how does LeBron James manage to keep playing at an All-Star level? After 19 seasons in the NBA, James is somehow still among the league’s top players, and there’s no reason to believe he can’t keep it up for years to come.

Part of the equation is just his natural ability and talent, but part of it may have to do with how James prepares his body before and after games.

We will never know all of the King’s secrets, but the NBA did give us an inside look into his world in a recent video on Twitter. In a minute-long clip, they show LeBron’s full pre-game routine, which includes his arrival at 2:45, tip-off at 7:10, and everything in between.

As you can see, LeBron takes his preparation time very seriously, and he works for hours before the game even starts. In truth, it shows the dedication LeBron has to his craft, and the fact that he’s still willing to go through this whole process 19 years into his career says a lot about his discipline and drive to be great.

Of course, this doesn’t even begin to tell the whole story of how James takes care of himself.

LeBron James Spends Millions To Maintain His Body

Not many athletes are able to do what Jame sic currently doing at nearly 40 years old. And while it has taken an immense toll on his body, LeBron takes extreme measures to extend his career — and that includes his diet as well.

In an article published on Men’s Health back in November 2021, LeBron dove deeper into his diet.

“I had no sugars, no dairy, I had no carbs. All I ate was meat, fish, veggies and fruit. That’s it. For 67 straight days. Before competition for me would be like a chicken breast and maybe a little pasta. The carbs help because you’re going out and playing a lot of minutes,” LeBron said. “But a salad and some veggies will have me perfectly fine. And before the game I might have a protein shake and some fruit, and I’ll be ready to go.”

“So the sugars I kinda cut out, but the carbs I kinda ramp up. Because you’re losing so many calories, you’re burning so many calories, burning all your energy throughout those games. So I kinda go heavy on the carbs because it gives you energy. It’s worked for me.”

If any athlete wants to learn how to preserve their bodies, they can just look at LeBron and follow his lead. With almost 20 full seasons of greatness, the run he has put together for nearly two decades now is truly unprecedented.

Even in something as simple as a pre-game routine, we can see how dedicated LeBron James is to being the best every time he steps foot on the court.
