Russell Westbrook has always been known as a confident player willing to do some showboating on the court. His trash talk has always been a part of his game, and it seems that hasn’t changed.

A recent video went viral on Twitter, featuring Russell Westbrook doing his iconic “rock the baby” celebration after scoring a layup against the Sacramento Kings. There is no doubt that Russell Westbrook looks as good as ever, and hopefully, his confidence translates into good performances during the regular season.

A player being confident and sure of themselves is always a good thing, as it means they are more comfortable on the court, which leads to better performances. If Russell Westbrook is confident, then that can only mean good things for the Lakers, as there were times last season when he looked unsure of himself on the court.

Russell Westbrook Can Still Succeed With The Lakers

Even though many fans are out on Russell Westbrook and his fit on the Los Angeles Lakers, there is still a chance that he ends up being an impactful player for the team. We have often seen players struggle during their first season with a new team, only to bounce back the following year.

It seems as though LeBron James is confident in Russell Westbrook as well. It was recently reported that LeBron James supports the idea of integrating Russell Westbrook into the team’s plans both “publicly and privately”, adding that he applied no pressure to the Lakers’ front office to make a deal with the Pacers to get Buddy Hield and Myles Turner.

In addition, James has shown support publicly and privately to integrating Westbrook and playing with the former league MVP again this season, and multiple sources said he applied no pressure to the Lakers front office to do the Pacers’ deal.

“Seven months have passed since James’ tweet supporting the “f— them picks” approach of Rams GM Les Snead led some to wonder how he saw the Lakers’ strategy, and sources say he remains supportive of the current regime. And while Pelinka made it clear on media day that he’s willing to trade precious picks in the right deal, that time has yet to arrive.”

Hopefully, we see the Los Angeles Lakers’ faith in Russell Westbrook pay off. He is certainly still a good player, and we have seen him swing games by himself even last season.

Based on how they’re doing against the Kings currently, this Lakers roster could end up back in the playoffs making a deep run. Obviously, it is too early to say that will definitively happen, but things are looking good thus far.
