The 2022-23 NBA season will be underway in less than a month. It means that a plethora of debates about the potential best players in the league has already started to take over the NBA community.
Obviously, these debates are bound to create some controversy because any big-name website can never keep everyone happy. But ahead of the 2022-23 NBA season, ESPN seems to be on a mission to piss off fans.
The popular website has been releasing its NBA Top 100 players over the last few days, and it has caused nothing but drama. ESPN recently received a lot of backlash for ranking Jimmy Butler below the likes of James Harden, Karl-Anthony Towns, and Trae Young.
If you thought that was bad, then you are in for a huge surprise, as ESPN has recently released their list of the top 6-10 players in the league.
ESPN Drops LeBron James And Kevin Durant Out Of Its Top 5 NBA Players
LeBron James and Kevin Durant might be getting older, but they still are two of the best players in the league as of now. It was evident from the fact that the two superstars were a mainstay in the NBA scoring race last season.
Now, ESPN has ranked James at number 6 and Durant at number 8 before the new NBA season begins.
NBArank continues with No. 6-10 👀

ESPN is usually considered one of the best websites out there. But it seems like this year, they may deviate. Upon seeing this list, NBA fans were obviously furious and called them out in various ways below the original tweet.

This list is trash. Tatum over Durant? Also, Morant is definitely not a Top 10 player… I'm in a hurry to discover the order of the top 5.

Experts???? Y’all tripping.. you just have a bunch of privileged dudes who never played the game giving their warped opinions about highly skilled players for the sake of argument. How about you just sit back and enjoy the show.. #Thrash50List

As expected, fans were visibly frustrated with ESPN’s expert panel for keeping KD and LBJ out of the top 5 list.
Obviously, this list will get to the two superstars, and it may become one of the reasons behind going off in the 2022-23 NBA season. Maybe we may even get to see a LeBron vs. Durant matchup in the NBA Finals? One can only wish.
