Ronnie 2K Hit Back At Klay Thompson After He Criticized The Game For His Three-Point Rating: “Even Though Klay Said He Hadn’t Played NBA2K… The Fact That He Cares About His Rating So Much, I Know That’s Not True.”

NBA 2K is the most anticipated basketball game almost every year, with fans and players alike playing it quite a bit. The next edition of the game, NBA 2K23 recently released ratings for a lot of players. This always causes some controversy and talk among stars in the league and this time proved to be no different.

Russell Westbrook got roasted for having a lesser rating than Patrick Beverley, while even superstars like Kevin Durant weren’t happy with their rating. Durant, in particular, called out Ronnie Singh or Ronnie 2K, the digital marketing director for NBA 2K. And he’s not the only star that’s unhappy, Klay Thompson had also taken to social media to express his disdain at his rating, particularly for his three-point shooting.

Ronnie 2K Fired Back At Klay Thompson Who Was Unhappy About His Rating In NBA 2K23

Ronnie 2K has become an influential figure in basketball. He is the biggest name associated with the game. And as the digital marketing director, he took it upon himself to respond to Klay’s criticism. He did so in a recent interview with Inside The Warriors.

“I think it’s a badge of honor for those guys. Something they definitely talk about in the locker room,” Singh said. “Even though Klay said that he hadn’t played NBA2K since the Dreamcast, the fact that he cares about his rating so much, I know that that’s not true. I can see his gamer tag, he plays it just plenty. But I also think him in specific, he was really upset about an 88 three-point rating.

“But you know what the funny thing is? That was still tied for the second-highest rating. I think that’s part of the issue of having a teammate that’s leaps and bounds ahead of everybody, like how do you deal with that? Steph since 2015 has made way more than 10% more three-pointers than anyone else in the league. So at some point, shouldn’t the rating be 10% higher than everybody else in the league? How do we deal with that? I think he’s just kinda broke that scale.”

Ultimately, Ronnie does have a point about Stephen Curry being so far and above the rest, even his long-time teammate. While Klay Thompson can do something about it next season, it’s hard to deny that he doesn’t care about the game at all. But if there’s anyone that can get that rating back up with an insane shooting season, it’s Klay.
