With the NBA offseason in full swing, Mavericks star Luka Doncic has devoted his energy to dominating EuroBasket 2022, and he has seen astounding success so far.

Apparently, Luka is also using the moment to build his relationship with a fellow Europan baller, and reigning NBA MVP, Nikola Jokic.

After the two were captured hanging out somewhere in the city, some fans began to dream of what a potential pairing of the two might look like.

With wide smiles all around, the group appears to be having a great time together in Europe. With weeks still to go before the official start of the regular season, they will have some more time to hang out before returning to work.

Luka Doncic And Nikola Jokic Are Two Of The Best European Players In The NBA

For Doncic, his EuroBasket run this year has been nothing short of spectacular. After Saturday’s 35-point outburst against Belgium, he set a record for most consecutive 30-point EB games in 30 years.

This weekend, for Team Slovenia, he dropped 35 points to become the first player in 30 years to have three consecutive 30+ EuroBasket games. He also tallied 5 rebounds and 5 assists in the critical win over Belgium.

Against France a few days ago, he had an even better showing, scoring 47 points in what was the second greatest performance in EuroBasket history.

As for Jokic, we already know what he can do. As a 2x MVP, he has proven to be among the game’s best players and he has enjoyed success at every level of play. According to the legendary Vince Carter, he’s the best European superstar right now.

“Yeah, there’s a lot of people saying Giannis is the best in the game or right there with the best in the game, and Luka is doing what Luka does,” Carter said. “But right now it’s weird, I’m gonna say it’s weird to me when you talk about big men. I mean, I think of Shaq when he dominated, he was absolutely considered one of the best in the game.”

With Luka and Nikola, we have two real-life examples of how far Europe has come when it comes to generating basketball talent.

As the NBA has grown, so, too, has an interest in the sport worldwide, and we are seeing a lot more international players have their way in the league. Really, Doncic and Jokic could just be the first wave of an explosion of overseas talent.
