Tyler Herro Quickly Changed His Caption On Instagram After He Got Trolled For Making A Mistake About Manu Ginobili

It is safe to say Tyler Herro has not had a great offseason up to this point. After the Heat were eliminated by the Celtics in 7 games in the Eastern Conference Finals, Herro, who was coming off a season where he was crowned Sixth Man of the Year, stated that he felt he had earned a starting role next season. Pat Riley quickly quashed any talk of him having earned a spot, as he stated Herro would have to win the role in training camp.

He then had to deal with some talk of him cheating on his partner and that was followed by rampant trade speculation, as he was rumored to be a part of trade packages for Kevin Durant and Donovan Mitchell. He expressed his disappointment in being part of those trade rumors but the fact is that he remains a member of the Heat, so it is time to put all that behind him and focus on having another good season on the court. For now, though, he is on vacation in Greece, but Herro, unfortunately, made some news for all the wrong reasons thanks to an Instagram caption.

While posting pictures of his vacation, Herro went with the caption “in europe like ginobili” and while it might seem quite cool, there was just one problem with it, which is that Ginobili isn’t European. Manu hails from Argentina and once Herro realized his mistake, he quickly edited his caption out of embarrassment.

The poor guy just can’t catch a break at this point. To be fair to him, a lot of fans also tend to mistake Ginobili for being a European, considering how he is remembered for the Eurostep, which he used so successfully during his time in the league.

Herro should also perhaps take some inspiration from Ginobili’s career, as he was someone who could have started on a lot of teams, but instead chose to sacrifice as he accepted the sixth-man role with San Antonio. The Spurs and Manu got 4 rings thanks to that and he is also set to be a first-ballot Hall of Famer this year. While making it to the Hall of Fame one day would be a lofty goal for Herro, he has shown that he can excel in that sixth-man role with the Heat, and like Ginobili, he needs to embrace it rather than see it as a slight.
