NBA Insider Says Utah Jazz Have Engaged In Trade Talks Around Bojan Bogdanovic, Mike Conley, And Jordan Clarkson

The Utah Jazz have been a consistent playoff team over the course of the last few seasons, but it is clear that the team’s ceiling was the second round. The Donovan Mitchell – Rudy Gobert pairing was effective in the regular season but seemed to hit a wall in the postseason.

Due to the team not being able to make a deep playoff run, it seems as though the Utah Jazz front office were ready to start anew. Donovan Mitchell was most recently moved to the Cleveland Cavaliers, while Rudy Gobert was traded earlier in the summer to the Minnesota Timberwolves. It is highly unlikely that the team will be competitive next season.

There are definitely other players that can be traded on the roster and bring back more draft compensation or young players that can help the Jazz rebuild. The Utah Jazz had a deep team, with a solid roster even beyond their two stars.

The Utah Jazz Are Moving Their Veteran Players

NBA Insider Tony Jones of The Athletic has recently revealed that the Utah Jazz are engaging in trade talks surrounding their veteran players. The names listed by Jones included Bojan Bogdanovic, Mike Conley, and Jordan Clarkson.

The Jazz are, according to sources, also engaged in trade conversations around some remaining pieces, namely veterans forward Bojan Bogdanovic, guard Mike Conley and guard Jordan Clarkson. But, with Mitchell now in Cleveland and Rudy Gobert in Minnesota, the franchise has officially turned the page on that era. For the Jazz, it’s all about how to begin a new chapter they hope can possibly lead to a title.

There is no question that all three of those players can be difference-makers for competing teams. Bojan Bogdanovic is well-known as an elite 3PT shooter, being able to hit a variety of different shots from range and with plenty of experience in the playoffs. Bogdanovic was most notably linked to the Los Angeles Lakers. Mike Conley is a veteran point guard who can do a little bit of everything offensively, with his most notable strengths being playmaking and 3PT shooting. Jordan Clarkson is a microwave scorer that can come off the bench and give the team an offensive boost.

It remains to be seen what teams end up trading for these players, or whether they will all be on the Utah Jazz at the start of the season. However, this report just further reinforces the idea that the Utah Jazz are beginning a new basketball era.
