Knicks Insider Says It Is Rumored Team Is Interested In OG Anunoby: “The Knicks Have Enough To Get A Deal Done…”

OG Anunoby is one of the elite 3 and D forwards in the NBA. He is a multi-positional defender that can also provide supplementary offensively. He averaged 17.1 PPG, 5.5 RPG, and 2.6 APG for the Toronto Raptors during the 2021-22 season.

Recently, it was reported by Fred Katz of The Athletic that there are “rumors about” the Knicks potentially being interested in OG Anunoby. Katz noted that a “substantial offer” would be needed to get him from the Raptors, adding that the “Knicks have enough to get a deal done”.

There are rumors about OG Anunoby, who fits everywhere and would help everyone, but it would take a substantial offer to pry him away from the Raptors. The Knicks have enough to get a deal done, but do they want to give up so many of their desirables for someone who isn’t putting them over the top?

Trading for OG Anunoby will likely not bring the New York Knicks to the playoffs, as he is not the type of player that can single-handedly change the trajectory of a franchise. However, his defense and 3PT shooting would help the Knicks on both ends of the floor, and overall, moving for OG Anunoby would be a good course of action if the team wouldn’t have to give up too much.

The New York Knicks have most notably been linked with Donovan Mitchell this summer, and it seems as though he is the player that is their main target. They definitely have the assets to get him, but the team likely doesn’t want to give up too much to acquire him. It remains to be seen what moves the New York Knicks end up making, and it is quite possible that we’ll see them swing a trade prior to the beginning of the season.
