After the Patrick Beverley trade was announced on Wednesday night, many fans started wondering what would happen to Russell Westbrook. Does this mean he’s gone? Is he the next player to be traded? Those questions are yet to be answered, but for now, the Lakers fanbase is seeing that their team can still pull off some moves to improve the roster.

Beverley is a solid defender who brings energy every night. He can compete for the starting spot with Russ, but we’re yet to see that. Still, this hasn’t stopped people from speculating about what this means for Westbrook. The noise is loud around the Lakers, but the former MVP is unbothered by that.

In the wake of the Beverley trade, Westbrook took to Instagram to show how happy and how unbothered he is by the recent developments. The point guard has been linked with a move away from the Lakers for a while now, and while some point out that the move is coming, Westbrook keeps focused on himself and the next season.

Nothing is secure right now, which is why Russ seems to be so chill. However, the Lakers made this trade without compromising any of their first-round picks. If they want to make a big upgrade, they’ll need to include either Russ or these two picks to make it happen.

The offseason is still here, and we’re a couple of weeks away from training camp. A lot can happen from now until opening day, and many believe that Russ will be involved in one of the moves we’re about to see.
